How to reduce electricity costs and what is a “green” tariff for a solar station.

It is not a  secret that the cost of electricity is not getting lower every year. Rooftop solar power plant is an appropriate alternative to the use of energy from external sources, which helps reduce the costs of private enterprises. How to reduce the cost of electricity of the enterprise or warehouse

What is a “green” tariff

 The “green” tariff is a special tariff for electricity from alternative sources, according to which the state buys it from enterprises at a price twice as high as consumption tariffs. To connect it after installing solar panels, you must obtain a license, which can take from 2 weeks to 2 months. Then pass the examination for compliance with the equipment and agree on a “green” tariff with the National Commission for Regulation of Energy and Utilities (Energy Regulators Regional Association).

If the company has installed a solar station under the “green” tariff, the energy consumed and generated in the grid will be recalculated on a monthly basis. The positive difference will be paid to the company according to concluded contract. We emphasize that the “green” tariff is reduced every year. Therefore, the profit will depend on the year of connection. The earlier you connect – the higher your rate.

For industrial roof with a capacity of up to 1 MW per 1 kWh, it is:

 • € 15.33 ct, if the station was connected in 2015;

 • € 14.65 ct, if the was connected in 2016;

 • € 13.92 ct, if the station was connected in 2017-2019;

 • € 11.97 ct, if in 2020;

 • € 11.55 ct if the station will be  connected in 2021.

Hybrid rooftop solar power plant 

Hybrid solar stations are designed to ensure full autonomy and energy independence of enterprises. When solar energy is not enough to run the entire company, the required difference is automatically taken from the general grid. Hybrid stations also generate electricity to the public grid – and this allows the surplus of energy produced to be sold at a “green” rate. They are installed by those who have interruptions in electricity supply and for whom it is important to ensure uninterrupted operation of electrical appliances.

Energy independence of the enterprises

 Installation of an autonomous solar station allows to obtain energy independence. This is especially relevant in places where there are interruptions in external energy supply. Solar systems in the event of sudden power outages can provide the basic needs of the enterprise to normalize work after some time. For example, solar panels in the summer can cover the operation of air conditioners in the room.

Why is it better to place SES on the roof of the enterprise building?

 Investors see prospects in the construction of solar power plants on the roof. There are many reasons for this. Energy consumption occurs at the place of its production, which reduces losses. In addition, for roof stations “green” tariff is higher than ground, and the cost of metal structures to accommodate photovoltaic modules is lower.
